Welcome to the Saltiness
There is a place for positivity. There is a place for keeping your eyes focused on the beautiful things in life. There is so much to be grateful for. With all due respect to those things, this is not that place.
This is the place for rants no raves, where grace refuses to perpetually abound. These are the waters where the cares of this world are cast with aggression. Welcome to saltiness.
Recipe
Brew Method: Aeropress Inverted Method
Coffee: Quiet Endless Searching by Little Waves Coffee Roasters
Dose: 18g
Water: 100 g
Grind: Medium Fine. A little finer then your normal grind size. Welcome the bitterness
Finish: Black Salt
The inverted method is my favorite way to brew Aeropress. Stick the plunger in the top and flip it over. Pour in your coffee, make sure it is level. Pour in your water, I like the water to be around 203 degrees. Not 204, not 209, 203. I can be picky because….It’s my damn coffee. Choose your own temp. Stir the Aeropress 3 ways clockwise, and whisper sweet nothings about your self, day, future, and/or dreams. Stir the Aeropress 3 counterclockwise and whisper salty nothings about the bitch that tried you today. Place the filter and lid on top, to seal in the energy. Place your cup on top of the lid, and flip it over. Channel your favorite politician’s response to any system issue that they absolutely have the power to improve, and approach the flip…gently. Almost no flip at really. Press down with consistent pressure, like the knowledge that it is inefficient to throw hands with every barista that explains what a pour over is 3 times when I order one…..and enjoy. Pour in as many teeny cups as you would like, just to get in the practice of being extra as hell for your own delight. Don’t forget a delicate sprinkle of black salt. It will bring out the sweetness of the cup. Much like occasionally giving your calves a rest when they go low and taking it back to the the middle school dance in 2002 and get “Low, Low, Low” right with them.
